THE WEATHER

MAINLY FAIR AND WARM

To-day’s forecast is for some rain in the western ranges but weather mainly fair and warm. In spite of dark, threatening conditions at times yesterday no rain eventuated, and to-day turned out brilliantly fine and hot. Yesterday was also warm, the maximum temperature being 70.2 degrees, in spite of only four hours’ sunshine. The night, too, was sultry, the barometer had fallen slightly this morning to 29.91.
