MR CHURCHILL’S STATEMENT CO-OPERATION OF B.E.F. AND FRENCH [U.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-Copyright] (Received 10th January, 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, 9th January. At B.E.F. Headquarters in France Mr Winston Churchill issued the following statement before returning to England: “I am greatly impressed with the cooperation and friendship between the B.E.F. and the French, which is closer than in the last waY I was particularly struck with the Royal Air Force’s instant readiness. I take back the same s nse of organisation, discipline, zeal and steady confidence evident during my visit to the fleet.” WESTERN FRONT (Received 10th January, 12.45 p.m.) PARIS, 9th January. The night communique states: “There was marked activity by our patrols during the day.”
