BALKAN ENTENTE
PERMANENT COUNCIL MEETING fU.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-Copynghtj (Received 10th January, 9.0 a m.) BUCHAREST. 9th January. It is officially stated that the Balkan Entente Permanent Council is meeting in an ordinary session from 2nd to 4th February. MUCH SPECULATION RESULT OF VENICE TALKS The result of the Venice talks botween the Hungarian and Italian Foreign Ministers still produces much speculation, particularly because of the return of the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Count Czaky, to Hungary, instead of continuing his holiday in Italy. He left Venice this evening for Budapest. Most well-informed observers suggest that two main subjects were dealt with, the first being the possibility of Soviet penetration in the Balkans and the second the relations between the delicate question of Transylvania. which Hungary claims. Responsible Italian commentator* stress Italy’s objection to any spread of Communism into the Balkans, and indicate a desire that Hungary and Rumania should reach an agreement —By radio.
