BRITISH OVERSEAS AIRWAYS CORPORATION TRANSATLANTIC SERVICE [British Official Wireless] (Received Bth January, 10,23 a.m.) RUGBY, Bth January. The British Overseas Airways Corporation is sending a technical expert to the United States, Canada and Newfoundland in anticipation of the opening of a Transatlantic air service in June from Britain. The 1940 service will be maintained by giant flying boats, and fast land machines will be substituted in 1941. A weekly service from both ends will be opera tec?, but plans are advanced for an increased service when more machines become available.
