WOOL APPRAISEMENT

FIRST IN NELSON ON SATURDAY The first appraisement of Nelson farmers’ wool by the Government valuera begins in the Nelson stores on Saturday 13th January. The British Government is purchaa ing the entire clip at an over-all average of 12Jd a lb. It is expected that the four local brokers will put through from 8000 to 9000 bales for the season. There will be three appraisements in Nelson, the second being on 12th February. There are already 2600 bales ready for the first appraisement, which should total over 3000 bales.
