NEWMAN SHIELD CHALLENGE MOTUEKA TEAM TO PLAY WAIMEA MATCH AT WAKEFIELD THIS WEEK The Motueka senior representative cricket team to play Waimea at Wakefield for the Newman Shield, commencing Friday, 12th January, has been selected as follows; —H. H. Smith (captain). H. Burrows (vice-captain), S. Young, M. Soane, J. Fowler, C. Askew, G. Fowler, W. Hyland, G. Ryder, F. Bowers, N. J. Lewis. The team is requested to asser.-ble at the Post Office corner at 8.30 a.m. on Friday. Players are asked t be in attendance at the Cricket Ground, Motueka, on Wednesday evening 5.30 o’clock. “K” CUP MOTUEKA JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVE TEAM The Motueka junior representative team to play Takaka at Takaka on Friday, 12th January, for t! “K” Cup is as follows: —C. Holyoake (captain), M. Thorn, R. Sigglekow, N. Cole, Y Smith, V. r . H. Gaudin, D. Boyce, P. Craig, R. Reed, E. Canton, J. Brodie. Emergencies: C. Fauchelle, and M. Smith. Any player unable to take part is asked to notify Mr J. Reed as soon as possible.
