MINERS RETURN TO WORK EMERGENCY ACT INVOKED TUnited Press Association] WESTPORT, 24th November. Following addresses by Messrs Devlin and McLagen, president and secretary respectively of the New Zealand Federation of Miners, and the receipt of a telegram from the Minister of Mines. Mr Webb, that the Government under the Emergency Act ordered the , miners back to work, the Denniston miners, at a mass meeting, adopted a resolution that under Government com pulsion the Denniston miners will re sume work on Monday. In the meantime, the executive, with j iMr Devlin and Mr McLagen, will in terview Mr Glendining, mining man ! jager for the Westport Coal Company at Denniston, and ask him not. to a* gravate the position by utilising big. boxes at present.
