ODDFELLOWSHIP

LOYAL HOWARD LODGE, M.U., 1.0.0. F. The Loyal Howard Lodge held their meeting in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Wednesday night, there being a good attendance. The correspondence was dealt with, all accounts being passed for payment, as also all claims for sick benefit. An invitation was extended to all members of all friendly societies to attend a flag 500 (or cribbage) evening on 11th November. The Loc'ge was informed that a new cripket club had been started in Nelson “Oddfellows’ Manchester Unity Cricket Club.” All are invited to witness their first match to-morrow (Saturday) at the Botanies. A motion was passed expressing sympathy with Bro. Shrimpton during his illness and wishing him a speedy recovery. After lodge closed in due form, many visitors from other societies were admitted to witness the final struggle for the “Freeman's Shield,” indoor bowls, which after a close game resulted in a win for Nelson Lodge Other members played cribbage. The social committee handed round a very welcome supper. The Grand Master, Bro. Stade, notified all Oddfellows’ that an official visit would be made to Murchison on 4th November at 1.30 p.m., and invited members to join the party.
