WOMEN’S FASHIONS
MAGINOT GREEN NEW LONDON MODELS !•. Air Mail—Special Correspondent! LONDON, 7th October. New women’s fashions in London have been given war names. All three Fighting Services are well represented. Maginot Green is one of the season’s new colours. The designer described it “as a cross between modern greenish khaki and dull grass green.” At a dress display this week skirts were shortish. Black house dresses had sequin embroidered yokes to brighten them. One had this in French Blue. Topically named models included “Firearms”—a draped, sculptured evening dress in geranium scarlet marocain; “Soldier Boy,” a collarless coat and short skirt in striped woollen material; and “Great Guns”—a satin evening dress in armoured-car grey.
