TAKAKA SUCCESS AT BLENHEIM SHOW MRS P. BAIGENT’S ENTERPRISE At the recent Blenheim Show, Mrs Phil. Baigent, of Takaka, had considerable success with her exhibits. In company with a companion, this wellknown and popular enthusiast rode her team through to the Marlborough centre, and this fact makes the awards obtained all the more meritorious. These awards were a first in trotting exhibition, second in best turn-out on the ground, and reserve champion harness horse. A second in dogcart horse and a third in roadster horse, also swells the list of the cards and ribbons that decorate the walls of Mrs Baigent’s Central Takaka residence. TAKAKA LABOUR PARTY BALL COMMITTEE MR AND MRS DAVIES ENTERTAIN A meeting of the ball executive of the Takaka branch of the Labour Party was held at the residence of the secretary (Mr J.
