BROOKLYN TENNIS CLUB
GENERAL MEETING OF MEMBERS COURTS TO BE OPENED ON SATURDAY At a general meeting of the Brooklyn Tennis Club, held in the Brooklyn Hall on Tuesday evening, twenty members were present. It was decided to formally open the club’s courts on Saturday afternoon, 28th October. The following executive committee was appointed: Mesdames Roy Drummond, W. Lewis, M. Grooby, Miss Barnes, and Messrs V. Fry, S. Young, H. Cox. H. Holyoake, D. Fry and H. K. Young. Mr Robert Bryant was elected club captain, and Mr H. K. Young was asked to take charge of the games on opening day. It was resolved that children have free use of the tennis courts on week days until 5 p.m., provided they are not required by club members. A club ladder competition is to be instituted. Mr Martin Duncan was appointed to the dual position of secretary-treasurer, and Messrs Harold Holyoake and Martin Duncan were elected delegates to the Motueka Association.
