SCHOOL COMMITTEE FORTNIGHTLY DANTE AND CARD PARTY RIWAKA BASKETBALL PLAYERS ! ENTERTAINED The fortnightly dance and card party : under the auspices of the Motupipi School j Committee was held in the School Hall on Saturday, 26th August. On this occasion, the committee acted as host to the members of the Riwaka i Basketball team which had played the Motupipi team earlier in the day. The ! function was largely attended by players j irom both teams, and by those parents j and residents who customarily support j these very popular dance and card game evenings. The arrangements were in the capable ; hands of Mr H. Coppell, chairman t»f the j committee, with whom were associated j several members whose efforts contributed : largely towards the success of the occa- | sion. Winners in the card competitions were j as follows; Ladies, Mrs J. Forman, 1; Mrs Woodward, 2. Gentlemen, Mr Ash- j fey. Edmondson, 1 ; Mr J. Forman, 2. j Tiie Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr j K. Fry and Miss Wilma Warren. Mrs Val Page presided at the piano. J A dainty sapper was enjoyed and the evening terminated with the National Anthem.
