INTER-HOUSE COMPETITION I In the second round of the intcrj house bowling tournament, the results ! were as follows: Ist game—Central Motors, 10; Tomato Growers 9. Outdoor Workers, 14; Grocers, 9. Buxtons, 15; Cosmopolitan, 14. Hospital. 15; P. and T. 11. 2nd game—Cosmopolitan. 11; Grocers. 8 P. and T.. 14; Buxtons, 10; Hospital, 13; Central Motors, 11. Outdoor Workers. 10; Tomato Growers, 5. 3rd game—Tomato Growers, 12; Cosmopolitan. 11. Outdoor Workers, 1(5; Hospital. 9. Grocers, 15; P. and T., 7. Buxtons. 13; Central Motors, 11. Only three teams won two or more gjmes and qualified for the next round —Outdoor Workers, Buxtons and Hospital. For the play off these three rinks and Boxers (bye in 2nd round) will meet on Thursday, 24th August, to oecide the right to contest the final. Three furthe~ games in the Police singles championship have been played resulting as follows: Petersen defeated Reid, Hughes defeated O'Sullivan, and Hayhurst defeated Groombridge. There was a smaller attendance than usual on Wednesday evening, and a pairs tournament was held. Mitchell and Martyn (s) won all the games, and for second place Gay and Piper (s) defeated Watson and Wilson (s).
