The weather was fine, the course heavy, and the attendance good. RACING IN AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND HORSES’ TRACK GALLOPS I I’A li.v Electric Teleieraph- Gopyrijrht l SYDNEY, 20th August. No recently arrived New Zealand horses raced at Moorefield on Saturday, but Royal Chief, Peerless, Te Hero and Beau Repaire worked most satisfactorily on the tracks. Royal Chief showed no sign of leg trouble and had to be held back in a six-furlongs gallop with Olympus. Royal Chief’s time was 1.215. Beau Repaire moved freely over three furlongs. He is expected to be a handy performer in coming three-year-old events. Peerless had a good deal in hand in a seven-furlong gallpo with Beau Vite. ■ The latter’s gait afterward suggested I lameness, and his spring prospects do ! not appear bright. MOONEE VALLEY RACES MELBOURNE. 20th August. At the Moonee Valley races on Saturday, the Plenty Hurdle Race, two miles 1 and a furlong, was won by Glenlonan, i by Lord Quex from Lalla Rookh. The Laluma Handicap, for three-year-olds, one mile was won by Grandson, by : Siegfried from Bonrina. Glaciate was unplaced. BRISBANE EXHIBITION HANDICAP BRISBANE, 20th August, i At the Queensland Turf Club's races. : the following was the result of the Exhibition Handicap, of one mile and j a quarter.—Sculptor, 8.10 (Selwood) 1; j Brown Force, 8.9 (Rowley) 2; Bahwig, 8.12 (McFarlane) 3. Twelve started. ! One length and a quarter; neck. Time, 2.4.

Following is the result of the Adelaide Grand National Hurdle Race, of two miles and 190 yards.—Keritane, 9.4 (Smith) 1; Tronach, 10.6 (Smith) 2; Digger Prince, 9.0 (Lawrence) 3. Nine started. Won by six lengths; three and a half lengths. Time, 4.53]. Adelaide Guineas, of seven furlongs.— Dramsome, 8.5 (Whitaker) 1; Lusson, 8.10 (Skidmore) 2; Sligo, 8.10 (Bastian) 3. Eleven started.
