LORD HALIFAX’S SPEECH OPINION IN GERMANY • Received 14th June. 9.0 a.m.) BERLIN. 13th June. The political spokesman said the British Foreign Secretary, Lord Halifax’s speech in the House of Lords was a step backward rather than forward, according fresh encouragement to the Poles to continue their machinations. "Germany has been willing to negotiate. but Poland, encouraged by a blank cheque from England, seeks other ways.” the spokesman declared. “Germany won't beg on her knees for Danzig.”
