COLLINGWOOD WOMEN INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Collingwood Women’s Institute was held at the residence of the president, Mrs A. Stanley. There was a fair attendance, and the main business was the celebration of the birthday. It was decided to hold a carnival ball at the end of the month. Mrs Stallard gave a report on Mrs Kelso’s school for officers held in Nelson. The motto was “Don’t dodge difficulties, meet them, greet them and beat them.” The roll call, "What to do if my clothes caught fire” was well and practically answered. The competition for knitted or crochetted cosy was won by Mrs Stallard with a Koala Bear
and second place was gained by Mrs Taylor with a crinoline lady. The meeting closed in the usual manner.
