ORDER OF ST. JOHN
NATIONAL CENTENNIAL APPEAL £20,000 AIMED AT ( Uoiled Press Association] WELLINGTON, This Day. A meeting of the commandery of the Council of St. John decided that the national Centennial appeal should be for at least £20,000, to be used for consolidating the Order’s extensive work throughout the Dominion begun 54 years ago. Each district will retain the moneys collected and not more than 5 per cent, of the net proceeds will be donated to Dominion general purposes of the Order.
The Auckland district begins its local appeal for £SOOO next week. Besides its general work St. John provides reserves for medical services in peace and
