BADMINTON CLUB FORMED

At a meeting held last evening in St. Thomas’ Hall it was decided to form a Badminton Club. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, The Mayor (Mr R. J. York); president, Mr 11. Row e ; vice-presidents, Mesdames G Talbot and F. Bowers, and Messrs H. Whitwell. 11. Glover, and W. A. Coppms; secretary and treasurer, Miss A. Julian; gear steward, Miss 1. Bowers; club captain. Mr H. Glover; committee, Misses M. Manifold, N. Rimmer and Mesr> A. Newth, K. Lummis, and C. Coppins; coach, Mr S. Bray. The subscription was fixed at 10s for men and 7s 6d for ladies, and a charge or sixpence per playing night will be made to cover expenses. It was decided that the season be commenced on 15th May, and that the club meet each Monday thereafter.
