JAPANESE SUCCESSES CLAIMED
SOUTH YANGTBEKIANG OFFENSIVE 3500 CHINESE KILLED • Received 19th April. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON. 18th April The Tokio correspondent of “The Times” says that the Japanese occupied Putsinhwa south-east of Nanchang. from where they are pushing on after j crushing the Chinese under General ILochoying. The Japanese claim that I they killed 3500 Chinese during the j offensive in South Yangtsekiang. Confused battles are raging elsewhere. The Japanese assert that Russian artillery corps are helping the Chinese offensive in South Shansi.
