UNLESS FRANCE FIRST SATISFIES CLAIMS
• United Press Assentation—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 19th April, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 18th April. 1 he French Press is unanimously of the opinion that Herr Hitler's reply to President Roosevelt will leave the door open for negotiation. Signor Mussolini s reply to President Roosevelt will be despatched within a week. The Dictators have decided to reply separately as Italy’s relations with the Powers the President mentioned are not the same as those of Germany. Signor Mussolini is expected to reject the proposals for a non-aggression pledge and for a world conference unless France first satisfies his claims. The Munich correspondent of “Ihe Times” says that instead of going to Berlin as was expected after studying President Roosevelt s message with Herr von Ribbentrop (Foreign Minister) in Munich. Herr Hitler went to Austria on a tour which will last for two days. Herr von Ribbentrop flew to Berlin.
