ATTEMPTED SAFE ROBBERY
INTRUDER APPAREN TI. Y SURPRISED NEW PLYMOUTH. 17th April. Apparently surprised by the unexpected arrival of the manager, a burglar was unsuccessful in blowing open a safe in the grocery shop of Mr James McLean. Inglewood, on Saturday night. Fumes were noticed by the manager. Mr S. Lovell, when he entered the store, but there was no sign of the intruder. A charge had been exploded in the safe keyhole.
