DEATH OF CYCLIST

COLLISION WITH MOTOR VAN THIS MORNING IN WELLINGTON STREET Shortly before eight o'clock this morning an accident occurred in Wellington street, resulting in the death of a cyclist, Arthur Walter Coltman, single, aged 22 years, of Kawai street. Deceased, who was the younger son of Mr H. Coltman, Health Insppector. was riding his bicycle out of Locking street, on his way to work in the city, and after having entered Wellington street came into collision with a motor van driven by H. Hopkins, which was proceeding south. The cyclist was thrown through the vehicle's windscreen and suffered very severe head injuries, death occurring shortly after the accident.
