ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTION OF OFFICERS I PRESENTATION TO MR E. D. BARRY :! There was an excellent attendance of l members at the annual meeting of the - ; Nelson Poultry. Pigeon and Canary As- ] . sociation. The president, Mr A. G. Betts, - j was in the chair and congratulated the 2 ! members upon the financial position. The following officers were elected - for the ensuing year: President, Mr H. f Simpson; vice-presidents, Messrs A. G. 1 Betts, E. H. Harkness, Jas. Hockey, G. D. Holly man, F. Hockey, G. Millar, E. I B. Martin, Chas. Stone, and E. D. Barry; tj committee. Messrs V. Coleman. M I r'Cuthbert. J. Haycock. A. G. Holly- - man. G. Hendry. G. Jennens, Ron. Hill. A. McDonald. H. New and A. Simpson: j ,-j auditors. Messrs Geo. King and E. D. j Barry; secretary. Mr J. L. Liddle (re--elected); treasurer. Mr Geo. Manning. The last year has seem the passing of ( several .of. the association’s very old members in the following: Mr Neale (1338). Mr Glasgow (1890). Mr Ed- • . monson (1895), and Mr Snodgrass S (1900). , ' ,-i Thanks were expressed to the Horti-i-i cultural Society, officers of the associa-! d : lion, donors of special prizes and cups, 9 the press, and the judges, k! Mr E. D. Barry was then the recip- •- ient of a writing desk companion which ! was presented by the president, Mr H. Simpson, on behalf of the members in appreciation of Mr Barry’s services to the association. Mr Barry suitably re- • plied. The show dates were fixed for the 7th, and Bth of July, and the table shows will commence on 10th April.
