Motor-Cycle Racing Seen From Air
The best possible view of the Grand Prix motor-cycle racing at Cust was had by Dr. F. Birkinshaw, who flew to Christchurch from Wellington on Monday after 18 months abroad. Dr Birkinshaw was flown to Christchurch in the Miles Whitney Straight belonging to the Canterbury Aero Club because he was unable to obtain a passage by Union Airways, and his pilot deviated to Cust where he flew behind the racing motor-cyclists, swooping low to see their numbers, and attempting to guage their speed.
