APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS CAPTAIN BURGESS AND CAPTAIN BUTLER COMMENCEMENT BEFORE END OF YEAR •Li.ftWl Press Association* WELLINGTON. 15th March Though no definite date has been announced it is now certain that the Tasman air service of TEAL (Tasman Empire Airways) will be commenced well before the end of the year, between Auckland and Sydney. Officul advice has been received of the appointment by Imperial Airways, in consultation with New Zealand ani Australia, of Captain J. W. Burgess us commander of the Aotearoa and of Captain G. C. Butler as commander of the Australia, the first two of the tranaTasman flying-boats. A ROYAL INSPECTION LONDON. I4th March. Their Majesties, while inspecting the Tasman service flying-boats, at Rochester, saw< the Aotearoa afloat and the Australia practically finished. They also inspected the eailier stages of the construction of the Awarua.
