This Day The Inspector-General of the Austratralian military forces. LieutenantGeneral Squires, in a report to the Federal Government, emphasises the importance of establishing the militia on a sound foundation in order that it could meet a major form of aggression. Other recommendations which have been approved by the Federal Government include lower retiring ages for officers and a supplementary list to which officers can be transferred at a special rate of pay.
