RUSH TO ESCAPE FROM ITALY SCENES ON BORDER PASSES 5000 WOMEN AND CHILDREN WANDERING IN NO MAN’S LAND [U.P.A. By Electric Telegraph-Copyriffhtl <Received Hth March. 10.12 a.m.) PARIS. 13th March. The police, using searchlights, worked throughout the night to cope with the rush of Jews in snow-covered alpine passes on the Italian border making an effort to escape before Mussolini's anti-Jewish laws are enforced. It is estmiated that 5000 women and children are wandering in “no-man’.', land.” A comparatively few who were in possession of visas were admitted, and others w’ere turned back.
