Three people were injured when a car crashed through a bridge on the Okaiawa-Normanby road to-day. and fell twenty feet into the Waingongoro river. The condition of David Myors. aged 11. who suffered extreme shock and water in the lungs, was repot ted by the Hawera Hospital to-night to be serious. The others injured were:—Mrs M. C Myers, of Hawera. rcalp and leg wounds: and Mrs Clancy, of Greymouth. broken collarbone and leg wounds The condition of both is reported to be satisfactory. The driver of the car! Patrick Cadogan. of Alton, a farmer, was not seriously hurt The car came to rest upside down in the river. the occupants escaping through the door.
