P A —Bv Electric Telegraph—Onovrichr j SAN FRANCISCO. 26th February. \ Tom Mooney, the “American Dreyfus,” who was l'ecently released after spending 22 years in San Quentin Gaol, underwent an operation for the removal of his gall bladder. A physician said that it would be several days before it could be determined if the difficult opei'ation had been successful. Mooney’s wife, from whom he has been separated. visited the hospital, but no one was permitted to see the patient. Mooney, the “American Dreyfus,” who was released on 6th January after spending 22 years in the San (Juentin gaol, said that he would do his utmost to win freedom for Billings. Billings is not eligible for a pardon because of a prior conviction for felony.
