*u.\L' goul) Performances In some of the events at the Wellington Provincial Championships on Saturday members of the Nelson team performed very creditably. The fields were large and in some events the times were good. Especially was this so in the 440yds vvon by Quinn in 49 2-5. In the half mile iu a big field of 17 starters botli Don and McMorland ran great ...races. They were both unlucky iu the draw for positions slartig right on the outside. From the outside they both went very fast to lead all the way to the final straight where Taylor and McCashen last year's winners, outpaced them, Don finishing a good third with McMorland close up.
