REGARDED BY ITALY AS ESSENTIAL (Received Ist February, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, 31st January. The Rome correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph” says that Herr Hitler’s speech did not define two points which Italy regards as essential—(l) Germany’s future eastern policy. (2) The possibility of Italy immediately realising her claims against France. HITLER TO UNDERGO OPERATION (Received Ist February, 9.0 a.m.) BERLIN, 31st January. It is understood that Herr Hitler will shortly undergo a further throat operation under the supervision of Dr. Sauerbruch.
