ENVOY T(fFRANCO NEW FRENCH CABINET CONFLICT (Received 26th January, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 25th January. The Paris correspondent of “The Times” reports a new Cabinet conflict over the question of sending a French diplomatic representative to Burgos. The Foreign Minister, M. Bonnet, is known to favour this on the ground that General Franco’s victory seems inevitable and steps must be taken to protect French interests under the new Spanish regime. The Prime Minister, M. Daladier, is undecided, but a number of other Ministers are firmly opposed, contending that such a move would not benefit French interests In any way now that the Italian hold in Spain is so strong but would merely bring France into further disrepute.
