MODIFICATIONS NEEDED FIVE MACHINES GROUNDED UP A-Bv Electric Telegraph -Oniivnirhl’ LONDON, 19th January. Imperial Airways, Limited, has grounded its five new Ensign class air liners, operating on the Paris route. Each of the machines cost £50,000. It is intended that the aeroplanes grounded shall be returned to the makers for important engine modifications. Nine more Ensigns, the delivery of which is 30 months behind schedule, will also be held up.
