KITCHINGMAN CUP MATCH

WON BY RICHMOND CLUB The second bowling match of the 1938-39 series for the Kitchingman Cup between Maitai and Richmond Clubs was played on the latter’s green on Saturday afternoon and resulted in a win for Richmond by a margin of 26 Points. Shortly after the commencement of play the sky clouded over and fairly heavy rain fell for practically an hour, during which afternoon tea was partaken of. However, the sky cleared and brilliant sunshine prevailed for the remainder of the afternoon, the match finishing rather on the late side. Dodson, on behalf of the Maitai Club, thanked the Richmond Club for an enjoyable afternoon and stated that whenever the two clubs met in a Kitchingman Cup match the competition was v- keenly contested. He also thanked the ladies for dispensing afternoon tea. which was greatly appreciated by his team-mates. Mr L. Wells, vice-president of the Richmond Club, replied on L:half of his club.
