JAPANESE RAIDED IN SINGAPORE

SEIZURE OF DOCUMENTS [U P A —By Electric Telegraph-CoDvrißhr' (Received 21st January, 1.0 p.m.) SINGAPORE, 29th January. Special police cordoned and raided Japanese hotels, the Industrial Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce, and seized documents which at present are being examined. Papers belonging to three Japanese employed by the South Manchuria railway who arrived recently following a tour of Indo-China, Burma and Siam were also seized. All the papers were returned except one the contents of which the police refuse to reveal. The Japanese were allowed to leave Singapore for Japan after being questioned.
