Describing the deterioration of the international situation as frightening, Mr Lloyd George during his speech at Llandudno, said that the grimmest comment on Mr Chamberlain’s visit to Rome, which had only intensified the apprehension of war, was that the first tvo colleagues he summoned for consultation were the r.ew Minister for Air Raid Precautions and the Minister for military aeroplane production.
