DISTRICT CUP MATCH WAKEFIELD DEFEATS MAPUA A District Cup Bowling match play-' ed between the Mapua and Wakefield clubs at Wakefield on Saturday resulted in a win for the Wakefield club by 20 points. At the conclusion of the game Mr A. McKee of the Mapua Club, thanked the Wakefield members for their hospitality and the friendly spirit in which the game had been played. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the ladies. The Hon. W. E. Barnard M.P., and Mr S. J. Barnett, who are on a cycling tour of the Nelson district paid a visit to the Wakefield green on Saturday and a pairs game was played between the president and secretary and the visitors, the game being evenly contested. Results of the District Cup Match (Mapua rinks mentioned first) were:— Ross, Coutts, McKee, Jackson (s), 18; Thomas Hunt, Shuttlcworth, J. Ching (s), 28. Stuchbury, Hall, Neave, Wakefield (s), 12; V. Baigent, Burgess, Ricketts, Eyles (s), 27. Foley, Pynter, Couch, Sladen (s), 21; Rev. Daynes, G. Silcock, E. Silcock, G. Eden (s), 18. Mapua, 53 points; Wakefield, 73 points. RICHMOND TEAM TO PLAY MAITAI The following will represent the Richmond Bowling Club against Maitai for the Kitchingman Cup on Saturday at Richmond:— Stratford (s), Giblin, Hammond, Brown. Powell (s), Gaffey, S. Sutton, Harkness. Tanner (s), P. Sutton, Nelson, Best. Wells (s), Sinclair, Wilson, Blomart. Fraser (s), Meads, Millar, Jeffries.
