WEDDING

MURPHY—BLOWEY A wedding of northern and southern interest was solemnised at St. Patrick ! Cathedral, Auckland recently, when Misi 'I heresa Mary Slowey, eldest daughter 01 Mi A. E. Slowey and the late Mr* Slowcj Nelson, was married to Mr Bert Austei Murphy, only son of Mrs W. J. Spoonei and the late Mr Janies Murpliy, Auck iand.. '1 he Rev. Dr L. Buxton officiate and the organist was Professor Moore Karoly. The bride, who was given away by hei father, wore a gown of magnolia chiffoi over satin. The bodice was cut on shape< lines with a low V-neckline finished witi a hoft bow of chiffon, and short full sieves 1 * very full skirt billowed to a circula; train, and the long matching veil was ven becomingly caught to the head with 1 topknot of dull satin flowers. She carnet a 1 ann shower of water lilies.

Miss Pauline Slowey, sister of the bride, and Miss Nancy Sandford-Friend, both of Wellington, attended as bridesmaids and wore low-cut gowns of amber gold chiffon. The bodices were made with Gibsou girl shoulder? and had V-shaped corsages of ruching, which fell to form a full skirt. Shoulder length tulle veils were worn, falliug from a halo of dowel's, and each carried a sheaf of mauve to grapecoloured gladioli Mr Fred Robb, of Wellington, was best man and Mr C. Em. n.ett Kelly, Auckland, groomsman. After the ceremony the guests were received by the bride’s father, assisted by Mrs E. Penman, who wore a gown of black embossed georgette and a smart biack hat. The bridegroom's mother wore an ensemble of prune sheer and a ha 4 to tone. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Later Mr and Mrs B. A. Murphy left by car for a tour of the south, the bride travelling in a frock of clover sheer, with accessories to tone.
