TAURANGA CLASS RACES
CONTEST WON BY NELSON Nelson won the Tauranga class contest with Wellington second, but the competition was not decided until a sail-off had been made necessary by the fact that M.C. and Matchbox each had 27 points on the conclusion of the five events. Nelson won the sail off by three minutes. Additional results were: - FOURTH RACE Matchbox (Wellington) l Tyke (Picton) 2 M.C. (Nelson) 3 Rewi (Havelock) 4 FIFTH RACE M.C. (Nelson) i . Matchbox (Wellington) 2 i Tyke (Picton) 3 Rewi (Havelock) 4 LADIES’ RACE IN TAURANGAS A ladies’ race in Taurangas was sailed in the afternoon for a trophy pre sented by Mr T F Connor Bay of Plenty delegate to the Idle Along contest. the event being won by Miss Valerie Griffith In making the presentation Mr Cor. nor said he had been surprised to find i that in Nelson ladies were sailing the! Taurangas and he was sure that Nel- i son’s example would shortly be follow - | ed by the girls in Tauranga.
