A united conference of citrus growers at Gosford decided to form a committee to protest to the Federal Government against the continuation of the New Zealand embargo on citrus fruit. Mr Lyons and the Federal Government were criticised in strong terms by speakers for the prohibition on the importation of New Zealand potatoes into Australia, which the speakers claimed had made New Zealand retaliate with an embargo o i Australian citrus fruits.
