OLD BOYS DEFEAT WAKATU

GLOVER SCORES 92 Continuing the match between Old Boys and Wakatu at the Park on Saturday, Wakatu, with one for 40 in reply to Old Boys 329, found runs very hard to get although they displayed very little enterprise. Two wickets fell quickly and later six were down for 89, but a stubborn partnership between Glover and Johnson for the seventh wicket, added 78 and brought a draw within the bounds of possibility but the total reached only 197. Glover played very solidly but much more quietly than usual, for 92, including 13 fours, 8 of which were in his last 40. The score took 00 overs to complete. With only 50 minutes left some useful practice was secured and Old Boys ran up 138 of 16 overs, but a number of chances were given. Dee’s 66 included 12 fours. Scores:— WAKATU First Innings S.
