Another 15 deaths have occurred throughout Britain from the cold which is blanketing the country in snow, holding up train services and making roads impassable. London's underground services were dislocated for an hour to-day as a result of short circuits at frozen points. The city is under inches of snow for the first time for years and some country districts are under several feet of snow Throughout Britain, the maximum temperature is 28 degrees and the mini mum 12 degrees. Channel services arr dislocated. NINE MORE DEATHS (Received 23rd December, 12.50 p.m.) LONDON. 22nd December. Nine deaths in Britain to-day are attributed to cold.

I Imperial Airways announced that the severity of the weather in Western Europe and the Mediterranean had i frozen several ports of call, interruptj ing the Empire mails. A THAW SETS IN ; (Received 23rd December, 11.40 am.) RUGBY. 22nd December London experienced a thaw this afternoon after the severe cold of the last few days, and the snow has now disappeared from the streets, but further north snow is still falling to-day. and many villages on the Lincolnshire wolds and in Yorkshire are completely isolated. Many roads are impassable. Transport in south-east Essex experienced difficult as the result of a very dense fog. Visibility in the Thames estuary was so reduced as to seriously embarrass shipping.
