An application from the Port of Auckland Shipping and Stevedores’ Association for some rebate in berthing dues on ships affected by the hold-up of waterfront work in November was received by the Auckland Harbour Board, which w'as also asked to grant a remission of storage charges on cargo received on the wharves for shipment but unable to be loaded. A recommendation from a meeting of the board in committee was adopted, stating that the charges levied against the companies foi; demurrage and penal demurrage on outward cargo held up during the period should be rentitttd
