In i <_om mu n nation received from the Local Government Loans Board, yesterday, the Motueka Borough Council was advised that the Board had granted its sanction to the raising of a special loan of £1450 for the purpose of purchasing a fire engine and uecessary equipment for th.- Motueka Fire Brigade. The Loans Board also sanctioned a specia' loan of £9OOO for the erection of workers’ dwellings within the Borough of Motueka.. The fire equipment loan will he subject to a poll of ratepayers, which will be taken at the end of January. The housing loan will be raised by special order.
