RAINS CAUSE SUBSIDENCE TRAINS HELD UP l United Frees Assoeiationl TAUMARUNUI, This Day. Following heavy rains in the past week a subsidence took place last night on the Main Trunk railway between Ongarue and Waione, seventeen miles north of Taumarunui. The subsidence is fairly extensive and it is expected to take all day to effect repairs. At present engines are unable to cross the subsidence and the carriages are being pushed across slowly, engines waiting at either end to take them on The express from Auckland was three hours later arriving here last night and the Limited was two hours later Trains from Wellington were not held up very long. Goods traffic meanwhile is somewhat delayed.
