MEETING OF SIIEDWOOD LODGE | . INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS j | t The half-yearly meeting of Shedwood j ‘ Lodge, No. 45, U.A.0.D.. was held in j the Druids’ Hall, Tapawera. on Satur- 1 day evening. The Arch Druid (Bro. S.! Wadsworth) occupied the chair, and the! following visitors were present: P.A. i Bro. R. Robinson and Bro. L. Steer' (Naumai Lodge). Bros. L. Lammas and) T. Fenemor (Trafalgar Lodge), P.D.P. Bro. G. Jamieson. P.D P. Bro. F. M. Day, P.D.P. Bro. W. W. Delaney, P.A , Bro. A. G. Betts (Maitai Lodge*. It was resolved that the Lodge express its sincere sympathy to Naumai Lodge in the passing of their secretary, j Bro. H. W. Mather. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect. All arrangements in connection with ‘ the annual dance to be held on Mon- ■ day, 2nd January, 1939. were left to the j secretary and treasurer to finalise. j 1 The District President < Bro. S. j 1 Stephens) was accorded full Druidic : honours upon entering the lodge room to instal the following officers: A.D.. Bro. G. Greep; V.A.. Bro. H. J. Duncan: 1 Secretary. Bro. E.R. Friend: Treasurer, Bro. W. Greep; A.D.B.'s. Bros. A. A ; Biggs and D. Lcapcr; V.A.8., Bro. K. N.: Biggs. Bro. E. R. Friend was elected Grand Lodge delegate, and Bro. K. Biggs as lodge auditor. At the close of the meeting supper was served, several toasts honoured and songs and recitations were given by a number of members. PIONEER LODGE SOCIAL EVENING The following officers were installed by the District President (Bro. S. Stephens) at a meeting of Pioneer Lodge, No. 19, held in the Lodge room, Collingwood street, last evening: A.D.. Bro. K. Jamieson; V.A., Bro. N. Nesbitt: secretary, Bro. V. Hill; treasurer, Bro. j R. Walker; 1.G., Bro. D. Delaney; 0.G.. Bro. G. Oakes; A.D.B.’s, Bros. A. Delaney and R. Adams; V.A.B.'s, Bros. E. Oakes and J. Bradley. At the close of the meeting, parents and friends attended a social given by 1 the lodge. During the evening items were given by Bros. W. Collis, piano I accordeon and mouth organ solos; Bro. I R. Simpson, Bro. A. Hollyman, Bro. A. j Delaney, Master B. Stafford (songs);) Miss E. Hollyman, Bro. R. Walker. Bro.) N. Hill (recitations); Misses E. Walkeri
and E. Bvrnc (duct); Sister E. Webster (club swinging): Miss Norma Delaney! and Master Brian Stafford (lavender 1 and lace): Mr Lex Logan (piano solo): Miss N. Delaney (tap dance). Mr Lex Logan and Bro. Collis acted as accompanists. A very enjoyable supper was served j and the proceedings terminated with I the singing of "Auld Lang Sync” and i the National Anthem.
