Y.M.C.A. DEFEAT COLLEGE B O’DONNELL BOWLS WELL In a junior B cricket match played at Victory Square on Saturday Y.M.C.A. secured a six point win over College B by 46 runs A feature of the game was the bowling form of O’Donnell, who secured six wickets for 7 runs, and eight wickets for 13 runs in the respective innings. Batting first Y.M.C.A. opened disastrously, losing two wickets for 4. but again a stand by O’Donnel and Wicks saw the score reach 91 before closing. Main scores: O'Donnell 29, Cederman 18, Wicks 13. Batting for College: Hansen five for 28, Boyd-Wilson four for 30, Burch one for 15. College opened cautiously, but were unable to cope with O’Donnell’s form and their innings closed at 50. Pearce 12 being top scorer. Bowling for Y.M.C.A., O’Donnell six wickets for 7, Wicks two for 6, Prcece one for 15. In their second innings Y.M.C.A. declared at six for 54. Scores: Wicks 18, O’Donnell 10. Bowling for College: Hansen five for 29, Griffin one for 15, Burch two for 8. College were left with an hour to make 98. At this stage the uame was very interesting, as College were fighting for a win, but again they were unable to play O’Donnell’s bowling, who secured their last wicket three minutes befoi'e time. The innings realised 52 runs. Bowling for Y.M.C.A., O’Donnell eight for 13, Wicks one for 22, Preece one for 5.
