PROPOSED NEW CAMPING GROUND j Two localities at Motupiko, one near j the Kohatu bridge, and the other in J Tennis Court road, up the Motupiko i river, were mentioned in a letter by Mr J N. Newport as suitable for camping j spots. It was resolved to refer the matter to the Patrol Officer to make further j inquiries about the proposed areas. j Following a letter from Mr J. Downie. of Murchison, the president spoke j in eulogistic terms of the excellent | camping ground there, and the keen interest taken by those responsible. It was resolved to comply with a request! for two notice boards; and to forward the subsidy of £25 promised by the association. It was resolved at the request of the Marlborough Association to erect a sign "to Blenheim” at Longfoi’d, and also at Murchison.
The Main Highways Board in referring to watercourses on the KorereTophousc Main Highway, said that the matter was one under the jurisdiction of the Waimea County Council, to whom the subject should be referred. WATERCOURSES The president remarked that there were about eight watercourses in the area referred to that needed attention. It was resolved to refer the matter to a sub-committee to make l’epresentations to the County. The secretary iMr E. R. Neale) reported that the itineraries of 17 different routes were now available, and would be a splendid addition to the association's services. Mr C. M. Rout moved to rescind the resolution passed at the last meeting not to distribute the road maps. The motion was lost. PARKING AT HOSPITAL It was stated by Mr W. R. Grace that the practice was creeping in of motorists ignoring no parking areas in the i*esidential areas. The matter was referred to the Patrol Officer. In connection with the parking problem at the Hospital, it was resolved that the council be recommended to level the bank opposite the hospital grounds in view of the danger that exists under present conditions. The Patrol Officer mentioned a difficult turn at the Brougham street-Scot-land street corner. The locality is to be viewed by members with a view of its improvement.
