WORLD'S LARGEST DREDGE

CEREMONY ON WEST COAST (United Press Association) HOKITIKA, 9th December. The Kanieri dredge, stated to be the largest in the world at present, was officially opened at noon to-day by the Minister of Mines (the Hon. P. C. Webb). The Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) and a distinguished party were present. Fully 1000 people witnessed the ceremony. Operations commenced very smoothly.
