Mr Gill, of Washington Valley, has in his possession a half penny bearing the date, 1823, with the inscription George IV. The demand for New Zealand grown tobacco leaf in the United Kingdom is rapidly increasing, the third shipment for the season being shipped by the s.s. Fordsdale recently.
